This Plane Is Definitely Crashing

Well, im in the wonderful lull between my writing and research classes and exams. I have an exam next Friday, but im still in denial. As to my oral argument, well, its done. I got up there, I was really prepared, I said 'May it please the court..." and i blanked. Completely. Ive heard of people going completely blank before, but id always thought it was more a saying to go with messing up. I literally forgot everything, and winged it. BUT, the judges said i did really well, especially in answering their questions. So basically i think i sucked, the judges think i did well. Not that that means all that much, the judges were 3Ls, and though they give me a grade, its my whore professor that determines the final grade. So im hoping ill find out how i did soon.
Im also in the throes of 'end of year' fever. Paying attention in class is long gone. Staying awake is a hassle. I cant believe im almost done with my first year of law school. Its really a trip when i think about it. Today there was what is called a 'last lecture' by one of the profs, in which they address the school as if it were their last lecture ever. My torts prof did it, and hes one of the ones i like so i went, and his big thing was how since law changes so much, and hes been teaching 25 years, his big thing is that law school doesnt just teach you substantive stuff, but teaches us to learn how to learn, and when we finish our first year, we think about stuff differently. Then he gave us a hypothetical, and pointed out how we can no longer think about it in the same way that we did a year ago. And hes right, its weird.
That also got me thinkin about how fast/long this school year went/was. I was so busy i didnt even notice it, but thinking back on it, i had a fun year. I did more in one year work wise than i did in undergrad total.
Now its just time for exams, and theyre going to be significantly harder than last semester. Itll be ugly.
Thats been about it for the most part. Lot of movies, either matinees or renting. Saw Boondock Saints, and its one of my favorite movies of all time. Saw The Alamo, liked it, saw The Punisher, liked it, they didnt pansy him up. Blah blah blah.
Just waiting for the financial aid to be approved, but ive already bought my France ticket, so thats locked in, which is nice. I cant wait. Just to be in a place that has history, like not just a few hundred years of history, but a LOT. I cant wait.
Oh well. Im going to refrain from going into a big nostalgic rant on much i miss my friends and stuff and how i think it rocks that everyones doing so well, even if things are damn tough at the moment. Nobodys breaking, just bending a little.
Out.
