I love old people. Maybe its being raised by my grandma for a while, who knows, but I do. And the older the better. But theres something I just dont get.
I understand that old people do everything slower than we do. The ole parts just dont work as well. And in many situations, I understand why they always let us youngins go first in line or something like that. But, I had an epiphany (ill pretend i know how to spell that) yesterday at the grocery store. There was a nice old couple in front of me in the express lane, and i only had like 3 things i was missing to make Chicken Noode Casserole (Yes, I can make a casserole) and they offered to let me go ahead, which i refused. The way i see it, why should they have to wait for me? The guy even asked me "Dont you have something better you could be doing than waiting in line?", which granted I did, but really, I have a lot more time to do such things than he does. In my waning days, I certaintly dont want to spend a lot of my time in lines. Its gonna take me 20 minutes just to walk to my car, let alone get through line. And at that point, lord knows how long ive already been in the grocery store. So the way I see it, WE should start letting the elderly ahead of US all the time.
